Open Positions

Build / Release Engineer
PacketSled is looking for a strong Release Configuration Engineer to join our team in beautiful Del Mar, CA. This position will be responsible for automating and deploying complete installation and update packages for the PacketSled line of products, working closely with the front-line developers. The team works cross-functionally with engineering and development to ensure timely release of products in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Automate build and release tools (Maven, Jenkins)
  • Automate application deployment (Chef)
  • Virtual machine management and deployment
  • Develop application installation packages
  • Build a continuous integration environment
  • Develop monitoring and healing functions for network sensors and non relational data stores
  • Develop and recommend new technologies for product integration
Job Qualifications
  • Self starter and autonomous worker in a fast paced environment
  • Constantly interested in expanding their knowledge and skill set
  • Experienced with distributed source code management (ie. Mercurial)
  • Linux system administration
  • Working knowledge of at least one configuration management tool (Chef, Puppet, etc)
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience or other high availability environments
  • All candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information security, or software engineering
  • Develop and write test plans and automation for internal, deployment, and release tooling
Additional Experience:
  • Experience with MongoDB, CouchDB or Hadoop
  • Experience with information security
  • Security signature development
  • Working knowledge of node.js
  • Agile/Scrum development methodologies

Network Probe Developer
Responsibilities
  • Write code for a blistering-fast distributed packet and content analysis system
  • Create a robust code that is resilient to attack in production enterprise environments scaling from 1 to 10Gb/s
  • Develop components to detect minute changes in application and user actions that may be indications of malicious behavior
  • Design and implement key metadata and content reconstruction handlers
Requirements:
  • Self starter and autonomous worker in a fast paced environment
  • Constantly interested in expanding their knowledge and skill set
  • Proven experience in C programming with a network influence
  • Experience in design/development of network traffic inspection systems (IDS/IPS, Full packet capture) or other networking applications
  • Significant experience with protocol stacks and higher level application protocols (e.g., HTTP, TLS, SMB)
  • Knowledgeable about accelerated network acquisition hardware (Netronome, Cavium) and software (libpcap, DPDK, Deep Packet Inspection libraries)
  • Demonstrable understanding of high-performance code development strategies
  • UNIX/Linux diagnostics/debugging
Nice to Haves:
  • Experience debugging network issues with wireshark or other network analysis tools
  • Understanding of virtualized network components such as Open vSwitch or SDN concepts
  • Network protocol or behavior, or malicious signature detection
  • Knowledge of the inner workings of file content protocols like SMB, AFP, SMTP
